Global Private Investments
Consisting of dedicated teams in private equity, private credit, real estate, and energy transition & infrastructure, the Global Private Investments team, follows a diligent, deliberate investment approach seeking long-term value across the capital stack, often with a value-added business partner.
Global Fixed Income
Global Fixed Income leverages an integrated investment process informed by top-down asset allocation and bottom-up security selection. Our primary objective is to generate capital through active portfolio management while carefully managing risks. We employ a nimble approach towards public market sectors while being opportunistic with capital deployments in private fixed income markets.
Strategy & Asset Allocation
We drive investment strategy and asset allocation for Liberty Mutual’s general account and pension accounts. In addition, we manage a multi-billion-dollar completion mandate spanning public equities and fixed income for the general account, and we manage Liberty’s impact investing mandate. We produce macro research and market views, and serve as the primary bridge between the investments team and key stakeholders - including Liberty’s board of directors, executive leadership, external stakeholders, and investment partners.
Risk Management
We provide an independent, objective perspective on the investment process and exposures. Across our four coverage groups — General Account, Global Fixed Income, Global Private Investments and Analytics and Infrastructure — we foster a culture of constructive inquiry and encourage exploration of risk. We believe that the only way to reach our goals is to prepare for how we might not. Risk Management is an integral part of the investment process and a voting member of the Internal Investment Committee.
Global Investment Solutions
We deliver solutions that enable capital creation and ensure Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI) operates with excellence and integrity. Our highly skilled team spans the functions of Finance, Business Agility, Operational Strategy & Delivery, Data & Analytics, Business Enablement, Compliance, and Relationship Management (co-led with Strategy & Asset Allocation). We partner closely with our investing and technology teams to ensure operational resilience, digitize processes and build scalable solutions that are essential to achieving LMI’s aspirations for the future.
Technology
As a key partner in executing Liberty Mutual Investments' (LMI) strategy, we are a dedicated team of engineers and technology professionals devoted to investments. Drawing on Liberty Mutual’s full information technology platform, we focus on data analytics, quantitative model engineering, full stack solution development, integration and implementation of vendor platforms, and technology support. We facilitate better and faster investment decisions, drive efficiency through automation and operationalize data to unlock insights.
Legal
Our team of sophisticated, transactional legal professionals specialize in structuring and negotiating primarily private transactions. We are a key partner in executing Liberty Mutual Investments’ (LMI) strategy and managing legal and regulatory risk. As one of 10 different practice groups within Liberty Mutual’s Legal department, we are the dedicated legal team for LMI.

As a team of human resource professionals focused on Liberty Mutual Investments, we are responsible for developing strategies to attract, develop, organize, and incentivize our greatest asset - our people. We leverage innovative, data-driven solutions in pursuit of a high-performance culture that provides professional and personal grown opportunities and the chance for everyone to master their craft and thrive. We are comprised of five core groups, Talent Advisors, Talent Strategy, Learning and Development, Compensation and Talent Acquisition and have access to Liberty Mutual’s talent organization.
